Vivo is all set to launch its first-ever smartwatch, the Vivo Watch, on September 22, as per a report by Android Authority. The report is based on a Weibo post made by Vivo where it confirmed the launch date and also teased a little of the device.
The report claims that the visible sections of the smartwatch are similar to the design seen in the live-action shots of the Vivo Watch by leaker Digital Chat Station.
As per the leaker, the Vivo Watch would launch in two sizes — 42mm and 46mm– where the 42mm would have a button design and placement similar to that in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, the 46mm would feature more recessed buttons. The smartwatch is expected to come with heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen level (SpO2) tracking based on Pulse Oximetry, the two features companies like Huawei, Xiaomi and Realme have paid attention to in their smart bands and watches. The launch of the Vivo Watch is set to take place on September 22 at 7:30 PM CST (September 23, 6.00AM IST).
The Vivo Watch was recently found listed in Bluetooth SIG certification platform, as per a report by GizmoChina. The device was also seen at the 3C certification platform earlier. There are two models that appeared in the 3C listing: W2056 AND W2052. These may be the two sizes of the variants. The Bluetooth SIG listing shows W2056 one. While the 3C listing hinted that the watch will have 5W charging, the newer one says Bluetooth 5.0. Vivo had announced last year that it would be entering into the smart wearables category.
