Google is set to launch its annual hardware event later this month. The company is likely to launch Pixel 5 5G at the event. And as per leaker Jon Prosser, Pixel 5 5G will cost $699. “Pixel 5 5G 128Gb $699 100%,” goes Prosser’s tweet. In another leak earlier this week, Roland Quandt had shared the European pricing of Google Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. “So here’s the deal. Pixel 4a 5G: 499 Euro. Black, White. Pixel 5: 629 Euro. Black. Green. gn8. more tomorrow,” said Quandt.
In some following tweets, Quandt shared alleged specifications of the phone. “Google Pixel 5. This is it. All technical specs of the new #Android11 “flagship” feat. SD765G, 8/128GB, 12.2+16MP/8MP cams, 4000+mAh battery and 5G #Pixel5 #GooglePixel and the first official pics.” Clarifying himself about wireless charging, Quandt said in another tweet, “Just to be clear: there is Qi wireless charging, including reverse. I corrected the article, sorry, misread my info.”
Quandt’s tweet on pricing came hours after UK telecom major BT hinted at 499 pounds as UK pricing.
Incidentally, Google has confirmed that the company will not launch its 2020 flagship phone Pixel 5 in India. “Regarding the two new 5G Pixel phones that were announced globally today, these will not be available in India or Singapore, based on a variety of factors including local market trends and product features. We remain deeply committed to our current Pixel phones and look forward to bringing future Pixel devices to these countries,” said Brian Rakowski, VP of Product Management, Google in a blog post in August.
Pixel 4a will however launch in India next month. “The price of Pixel 4a in India will be revealed closer to its launch in October 2020, when it will be available for purchase on Flipkart,” said Rakowski in the blog post.
Pixel 4 a runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G Mobile Platform and comes with Titan M security module for on-device security. It comes in single variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
