After Suhana Khan’s ‘end colourism’ post, Gauri Khan shares a note on women empowerment – Times of India

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan‘s daughter Suhana Khan is making headlines as she slammed ‘colourism‘ in her latest post. She shared comments by trolls who called her “ugly”, “kaali” and revealed she has been called out for her dark skin since she was 12 years old. Now, her mommy Gauri took to her Instagram handle to share a picture of herself. Along with the photo, she penned a note on women empowerment.

In her post, she tagged designer Monisha Jaising, choreographer Farah Khan, Ananya Panday’s mom Bhavana Pandey, actress Neelam Kothari, and Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Maheep Kapoor, among others. The post was captioned as, ”I am a woman.

Protector, muse, wanderer, achiever, dreamer…

You only see a part of me. The part that is rooted in my role, not in my soul.
All that’s unseen completes me, and from there I draw my strength.

This image is a reminder to stay #RootedToStrength.

Tag women who inspire your soul. Post a cropped image of yourself, share this text and let’s create a global grid of strength. @monishajaising @falgunipeacock @farahkhankunder @bhavanapandey @neelamkotharisoni @seemakhan76 @maheepkapoor @shivaniwpasrich @gitikatarapore”.
